communications specialist

Jesse is the Communications Specialist at Operation Restoration. He oversees the communications team and develops internal and external communications content distributed by OR. 

Jesse comes from a journalism background with more than five years working as a reporter and visual multimedia journalist. Originally from California, Jesse fell in love with New Orleans when he first moved here in 2012 to attend University of New Orleans through an exchange program.

Jesse graduated from California State University Humboldt with a B.A. in geography and also received his M.A. in journalism from the City University of New York’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Before switching careers into journalism and communications, Jesse worked in the elementary education system in New Orleans, where he taught K-4.

Jesse is excited to elevate OR’s presence and create compelling content to connect more deeply with communities in New Orleans and beyond.
