Judge Sandra Jenkins, a former Assistant District Attorney and criminal defense attorney, was elected Nov. 6, 2012, to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University, Southern University A&M College, Southern University Law Center and Mercer University-McAfee School of Theology.

Judge Jenkins serves on various committees of national, state and local bar associations. She is a member of the Louisiana Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission’s Accessibility Committee. As a licensed Minister, she intentionally blends profession, ministry and community. Her service includes Judicial Education Faculty Member for Louisiana Supreme Court’s Domestic Violence LPOR program, Board of Directors for Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program, Inc., Fourth and Fifth Circuit Judges Association, Louisiana Judicial Council/National Bar Association (Secretary) and the American Judges Association (Board of Governors).

She is a 2022 graduate of the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute and an adjunct professor at Xavier University of Louisiana.
